Breaking Cycles is my story of purpose and hope. I share with you some of my most candid and raw experiences during my life as a ‘career’ criminal and how I overcame seemingly never ending cycles of illegal activity, addiction, depression and hopelessness only to emerge victorious and free!
This book is for those circling the same mountain, over and over again and not knowing which direction to turn. Or you may be in a position of authority and leadership, seeking to relate to the reality of many young people on today’s streets.
Access into the shocking real-life accounts of the life of a so-called ‘thug’ and ‘hustler’ and why it’s NOT the life to lead if you want lasting peace, joy and success.
Why ‘ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!’ is one of the most critical points you can reach in your life – if you truly want to change and turn your life around!
Why the majority of prisoners are entrepreneurs at heart, albeit running illegal businesses. My hope is that my story will activate a self-discovery journey in you – the reader, to find out who you really are so you can package your unique experiences to share with the world!
About the author
Co-Founder & CEO – Breaking Cycles
Agos Youngsam is CEO of Breaking Cycles, an organisation set up to help ex-prisoners resettle into their community.
Agos is driven by his desire to help those who feel they have been excluded from society, get onto the right track. Finding himself on the wrong side of the law on many occasions, his journey led him through a self-discovery process where he came face to face with his demons and emerged victorious.
He now has a strong desire to see peace and order restored to individuals and families. He is happily married to his wife Nicola and together they have four beautiful daughters.
Did you know that adults released from custodial sentences of less than 12 months had a proven reoffending rate of 59.9%.
Breaking Cycles is a movement to help individuals in the criminal justice system identify the negative cycles and patterns that are causing them to experience defeat, powerlessness and lack of purpose.
By targeting re-offenders in the prison system, and providing them with targeted support, we will also restore many other areas in our community such as marriages, families and children.
Our aim is to break cycles and create new cycles, generational cycles of hope.
We know that timing is critical. During the first 48 hours of a person being released from prison, they are faced with many options that can either make or break them.

A strong, interesting story of a very unusual – to most people – childhood and teenage upbringing. Harrowing and shocking in many instances.
A pleasure to read!
I read Breaking Cycles with keen interest, what a story! Very well narrated by the author!
